Eucharist | Reconciliation

Prior to reception of First Eucharist (Communion), is the receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Penance or confession).

Parents, who wish to prepare their child to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Penance for the first time, are invited to become part of our Faith Formation Program. This program assists parents in helping their child grow in their understanding and appreciation of this sacrament of God’s forgiveness. It is expected that parents presenting their son or daughter for First Penance are registered members of the parish. They and their child should also be part of our faith community each Sunday.

This program assists parents in helping their child grow in their understanding and appreciation of their Catholic Faith and in Christ’s gift of the Eucharist. At OLC children normally receive their First Communion while in the second grade. It is expected that parents presenting their son or daughter for First Communion are registered members of the parish. They and their child should also be part of our faith community each Sunday.
