BECOMING A CATHOLIC
Have you been attending OLC with your Catholic spouse, with your fiancée, or with a friend? Have you felt drawn to the Catholic Faith or wanted to know more about it? Have you wondered whether you should be a Catholic? Have you thought that God might be leading you on a spiritual journey to the Catholic Church? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then we invite you to participate in a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA.
This is the process whereby adults prepare for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. These sacraments, or sacred rituals, bring a person into contact with the Lord and lead to membership in God’s Church. During a series of friendly, informal sessions, adults are helped to make a decision about becoming full members of the Catholic Church.
People who might want to learn more about this special process, the RCIA, include:
•Adults who were never baptized and who now wish to learn about the Catholic faith with the possibility of becoming Catholics.
•Baptized Christians from other denominations who would like to learn more about the possibility of joining the Catholic Church.
•Catholics who were baptized, but never received First Communion, First Penance, and/or Confirmation.
•If you would like more information about this process, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 201-434-0798 and ask to speak with the Pastoral Associate. Come and see if God is calling you for a closer relationship through the RCIA process.
